While many of us enjoy meats and animal based products in our daily diet, there are those of us who don’t. And that’s totally okay! Whether it’s by choice or not, being vegan isn’t necessarily an easy thing to do especially when you’re starting out. You may not even know what kind of foods are under the “okay-to-eat” list. The most popular type of milk substitute would without a doubt be almond milk. It’s low in sodium, has no cholesterol, and has less than half the calories found in whole milk.

The biggest question vegans get asked is “Don’t you ever miss eating meat?”. There are actually a bunch of other foods that can replace meat. Some of the most popular substitutes are tofu, tempeh, seitan, mushrooms, lentils, and would you believe it, jackfruit!

Dessert is one of if not the most anticipated parts of a meal and there’s no dessert more classic than ice cream. However, not everyone is able to enjoy this frozen treat due to being lactose-intolerant or vegan. Nowadays, everyone can enjoy ice cream thanks to creations that are vegan-friendly. Instead of regular milk, they use soy, rice, nut, and coconut milk to make up the sweet creamy treat we all know and love.
